The Montessori Kindergarten student has a unique experience from all other educational endeavors in that they are immersed in both the traditional Montessori learning style and also guided toward applying their Montessori foundation to more traditional schooling. This very distinct and purposeful method allows age child to advance beyond the state standards of learning and prepares them for all aspects of their future education.

With an already evolved self-assuredness and passion for learning, the kindergarten child is able to transition to more teacher directed education, without compromising their already blossoming intrinsic value on discovery and knowledge.

The child of 5 and 6 years is ready to connect all of their previously acquired lessons and skills throughout their journey through the Montessori curriculum, unifying them to mature the whole self. This creates a well-rounded child prepared for any situation in all physical, emotional, social, and cognitive levels.

The goal for the third year primary student, or the kindergarten student, is to support in mind, body, and spirit the unique individual with which the child is becoming. Through the traditional Montessori mixed age groupings, the kindergarten child is a role-model for the younger students, setting an example and taking on the responsibility of leadership in the classroom. This instills confidence that emerges with the child and encourages not just a desire to explore the classroom, but to be an active contribution to the world.

This kindergarten child is also given opportunities to grow with peers of like age in Montessori inspired lessons, but with more traditional components woven in. This ensures that each kindergarten child is prepared with the skills to go into the world, impacting it in whatever way they assertively choose; while also ensuring that they are well-equipped for their next stage of educational construct in whatever schooling they transition to.

The Montessori kindergartener is well versed in independent and child- directed activities that promote the assuredness in decision-making and individuality. However, the kindergarten year, they are also familiarized more deliberately to teacher guided and whole group lessons.

Each of these approaches that emphasize differing values, with which the kindergarten child can absorb in unison, are used collaboratively to strengthen the child as a confident and capable individual and as a contributing and socially mature member of a group. In their last year of Montessori education, the kindergarten child truly comes together as a whole being.
